BP is one of the world's largest energy companies with more than 97,000 people operating in over 100 countries and six continents. We have a network of 17 wholly or partly owned refineries, 15 million customers every day and are currently producing around 3.9 million barrels of oil equivalent per day. In this age of growing global demand and environmental urgency, we are looking at new and better ways of delivering energy to the world - without compromising the planet.
We offer UK internships to penultimate year students which can lead to graduate jobs in a range of science, engineering and business roles including:
After a one day BP induction and a site induction, interns immediately start work alongside BP colleagues on real projects. We provide any technical or IT training which will help interns build confidence and be as productive as possible as quickly as possible. In addition to a line manager who supports day to day work, each intern has a mentor who is there to help discuss career opportunities and competency development and provide links to other BP people through their networks.
'Thank you very much for giving me this incredible opportunity to work here. I have enjoyed it a lot and learned so much' (petroleum/ reservoir engineering intern)
'My internship has been very well structured.I have found that my project has the correct amount of research by myself and interaction with what the rest of the group are doing..I feel that the work I am undertaking is directly relevant to what the group are doing.my mid internship appraisal was good and clear and I know exactly what I need to work on for the rest of my internship' (Geoscience intern)
'Its one of the best I've seen. It was difficult to find anything negative to comment on.' (Quality Mark board member)

We have won awards for our internship programme from NCWE and Target. We opted to take part in the Quality Mark because it takes external evaluation to another level:
