|University of Birmingham||Careers Network||Careers Network at the University of Birmingham provides holistic assistance to all students, combining tailored assistance from a large team of careers professionals with a huge range of events delivered by employers on the campus.|
|University of Birmingham||Careers Network - Internships||A team of five Internship Officers (one for each of the University of Birmingham’s five colleges) each sources opportunities appropriate to students studying the disciplines within their college. Opportunities are diverse, ranging from short shadowing opportunities, through summer placements, to year-long placements. The opportunities are promoted to the students by a variety of means including Careers Network’s student-facing database, as well as through lecture shouts, flyering, posters, bespoke social media feeds and utilising the assistance of other stakeholders in the University, including the academic staff, who work closely with Careers Network.|
|University of Birmingham||Careers Network – University of Birmingham Work Experience Bursaries||The Internship Officers also manage the University of Birmingham Work Experience Bursaries, which can provide financial assistance to undergraduate students from the University who are planning to undertake work experience placements during the summer vacation. Four funding streams exist: the UK Professional Bursary, the International Work Experience Bursary, the Research Bursary and the Gateway Bursary. The University of Birmingham also runs the unique Global Challenge scheme, to give ambitious University of Birmingham students once-in-a-lifetime opportunities as interns in top global companies.|
