NASES are pleased to announce the roll out of the Career Development Learning Module, the second module of the new professional qualifications to be launched at Reading University. In association with AGCAS, NCWE and NASES, a professional qualification programme in the Management of Student Work Experience was launched earlier this year at Reading. The sector demanded a professional qualification and, in response, this unique and pioneering programme was developed at postgraduate certificate and diploma level.
The first cohort are nearing completion of the initial module and are very excited about advancing on their path to a certificate or diploma with this next module. Entry is open to all those who are in job shops, student volunteering and placement centres or similar services. The qualification is taught at postgraduate level; successful completion will lead to the award of a postgraduate certificate or diploma. Applications are welcomed from those without a first degree, although experience and a keen interest in this field are essential.
The programme is delivered through a mixture of distance learning through an online virtual learning environment and some three-day residential courses, giving students an opportunity to mix with others in similar roles and positions while they learn.
This is an important and growing sector and this qualification offers those involved an exciting opportunity to further their own professional development.
