Many SMEs see the benefit of taking a student on work experience, but are unsure how to go about it, or indeed what their options are. Others assume that taking on a student is too time-consuming and of little benefit to their business. This guide aims to help SMEs overcome these issues.

It's user-friendly application minimises the time required by the employer to provide a positive experience for both parties.

Written by Berni Dickinson, a freelance consultant who has worked extensively with SMEs on recruitment and development of graduates in the workplace, the guide raises awareness for the potential of recruiting students and graduates. It also enables SMEs to develop better links with their local universities, which could lead to co-operation with a range of departments and thus to other forms of knowledge transfer.

Additional input comes from Sarah Gibbons, Development Officer at the Centre for Career Development at the University of Nottingham and Liz Rhodes, MBE, Director of the National Council for Work Experience.

The material will be delivered electronically once a licence agreement has been signed. This allows customisation, e.g. adding your own logos, adapting some of the text to make reference to your own systems and procedures, as well as adding appropriate contact details.

Price: £1,000.
