NCWE Award Winners 2005/6 : BBC

The BBC received a ‘Honourable Recognition’ on the day as the judges wanted to acknowledge the excellent opportunities offered by the BBC. The placements that the organisation provide are available in just about every area of the BBC across the UK. Due to the huge number of students looking for work experience in the media the BBC prefer to offer lots of short work experience placements to ensure that they can offer the opportunities to as many people as possible. Students also nominated the BBC in the student award category with one student commenting it is “one of the few journalism placements providing a genuinely hands-on, involving experience”.
